WNF and Nano-ES Institute Logo Contest

Calling all users, artists, and inspired community members!

The Washington Nanofabrication Facility and the new Institute for Nano-Engineering Systems (Nano-ES) are looking for a new visual identity and need your help. We are seeking current WNF students, users, and staff who can design two creative, innovative and professional logo designs. The logos should be recognizable and help promote each facility’s mission, as follows:
“UW WNF’s primary purpose is to provide an open-access facility that enables users to leverage tools and processes to innovate in an efficient and timely manner that will ultimately provide knowledge and stimulate economic growth.”

The rest is up to you! Please read below for more details regarding logo design, contest rules and submission requirements.

How to Enter the Contest

The contest begins on December 15th, 2016. Submissions will be accepted through January 23rd, 2017. Winners will be announced in via our website, social media websites and by direct contact to the winners’ email account. In order for your entry to be submitted and reviewed by our judges, all entries must be:
1. Submitted directly to wnfinfo@uw.edu
2. Submitted in their original source file and
3. Submitted as a high resolution .PNG file.

Logo Requirements

• Professional: This logo may be featured on our website, our social media platforms and other mediums (stationary, pamphlets, etc.). As a result, while we want the logo to be eye-catching, it must still be legible.
• Theme: The logos must promote the mission of Washington Nanofabrication Facility and the Nano Institute. Their themes MUST also be coordinating and/or connected in some way besides color.
• Color: Please limit your choices to UW Colors, which can be found here: https://www.washington.edu/brand/graphic-elements/primary-color-palette/. In addition, the logos must look good in color (if any) or black and white.
• Integrity: Logos cannot contain copyrighted material. Logos must have been created and edited by the contestant(s). Logos may not include images or licensed images that have been previously published. Must be easily reproducible and scalable for large and small formatting.

Contest Details

Winners will be selected by the WNF Directors in conjunction selected WNF Staff. Contestants agree that the WNF may publish their logo and name(s) and may use both for advertising campaigns and/or marketing materials in the future. Contestants assign all ownership rights, including all intellectual property rights to the logo, to the Washington Nanofabrication Facility. Additionally, the WNF may alter, modify or revise the logo as it sees necessary to achieve the goals of the facility. The WNF reserves the right to not select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.

Prize

Contest winner will receive a $350 Visa Gift Card (and bragging rights!).
